A nongovernmental organization (NGO) is a not-for-profit organization that is independent of the state or international governmental organizations. They are usually funded by donations but some avoid formal funding altogether and are run primarily by volunteers. "Charity" is one of the faith’s most effective tools for spreading the values of solidarity and support between the sons of the Ummah. It encourages them to remain united like one body; when one part of it suffers a complaint, all other parts join in, sharing in the sleeplessness and fever.
